Labor Doula

My labor doula services include two prenatal visits, support for you and your partner during labor and immediately after the birth of the baby, and one postpartum visit. Additional pre- and post-natal visits can be arranged if desired, although an additional fee may apply.

During prenatal visits, I will:

Help you develop your birth plan
Offer education and resources on birth and postpartum topics, as well as basic infant care and breastfeeding information.
Teach or review relaxation and coping techniques with you and your partner.
Answer any questions you or your partner might have about late pregnancy concerns, signs of early labor, coping techniques for labor, what to expect during labor and delivery, postpartum infant and mother care, breastfeeding, and more.

I go on call for you starting two weeks before your due date until your baby is born. I am always available prior to 38 weeks call to answer questions you have, either by phone during normal waking hours or by email.

During the postpartum visit, I will:

Talk about your birth experience, answering any questions you have about what happened and the timing, as well as any other aspects of the birth you might want to discuss
Provide information to you about postpartum or newborn care topics that you express an interest in (breastfeeding, review cord and circumcision care, baby blues/postpartum depression, getting back in shape, parenting issues, and so on)
Do any light housework that needs done that day or tend the baby while you take some time for yourself.

Fees - My fee is $450 and includes all of the above-mentioned services. I realize that not all families can afford the extra money it costs for a doula, so I am willing to discuss reduced fees for special circumstances. I also barter for my services.

Postpartum Doula

I offer part-time postpartum doula services. After the birth of your baby, I will come to your home and do any of the following as needed:

Watch the baby and older siblings so mom (and dad!) can sleep
Light housekeeping - straightening up, dishes, vacuuming
Cook a meal
Answer newborn care questions
Offer breastfeeding tips (I am not a lactation consultant, but I can help resolve minor problems and questions, and I can help determine if you should call a professional)

You can arrange ahead of time if you know you will want postpartum doula services, but if you realize after you are home from the hospital that you need some assitance, I can usually arrange to help you out with only a day or two of notice.

Web Design

I provide simple web design for families, small businesses, or other purposes. The sites I design are simple and basic, in that I do not use a lot of fancy programming, but they are clean looking and easy to navigate. Working with you and your ideas, I will come up with a couple of different drafts from which you can choose.

I can also take care of the purchase of a domain name and hosting, and can set up blogging software or some of the software/services that may be provided by your webhost.

Additionally, I can provide maintenance updates on your site as you have need of informational or other changes.

Fees - The fees for my web services are listed below. Other fees may apply. If you have questions about a services you do not see listed don't hesitate to ask! As with my other services, I am willing to barter for some or all of the fees in special circumstances.

Web site design, includes graphics and 5 pages - $200
Additional pages - $15 each
Simple Logo for use on stationary, etc - $50
Domain name purchase (includes registration fee) - $15
Hosting - $10 to set up, plus $10/mo hosting fee
Installation and setup of blogging or other software on site - starts at $75
Maintenance - $15/hour
